I was going to put a song quote about the beach here but then I realized that most the bands I like are from cold, frightening places...

I just finished up a couple more t-shirt designs for Hey Stranger. Yeeeha! To their credit, I did not come up with the concept for this design...but oh man, I wish I had. If only I was a drummer, or had any kind of musical talent (occasional merch girl doesn't count,),I too could become a sex symbol/cymbal. Alas! I will have to rely on my good looks (idiotic overconfidence) and charm (ability to sound like I know what I'm talking about when I really have no idea what the hell I'm doing)in order to get me through life. It's blasé, really.

Anyway, I'll be in Costa Rica for a while trying to absorb some culture, some sun and some alcohol...and hopefully, not making an ass of myself attempting to recall my high school Spanish. Don't worry kids, I've still got plenty of stuff on the way!

If I don't come back it's because I ran away with a hot Costa Rican dude (awesome) or I'm in a hot Costa Rican jail (probably more likely). I'm hoping for the former. Wish me luck!

Cheers!

Like vampire bats deprived of blood (into the New York city night we crawl)

Hey kids! Here's a logo I just finished up for Hey Stranger, a great ska band that I met while I was in New York city. I'm actually from New York state. Oddly enough, now that I live in Boston, I actually live closer to NYC then I did when I lived in New York state. I'm pretty sure most New Yorkers don't think there is anything above White Plains and well, they're pretty much right. The rest of the state is basically no mans land aside from Rochester,(my hometown, sort of boring), Buffalo,(horrible, but the wings are good), Syracuse(even more horrible) and Albany, (so fucking horrible you'll want to stab your eyes out with a dull pencil...I mean Jesus, have you seen the bus station? It's like the place where hookers, heroin addicts and rats go to die, also every time I go there someone either asks me for money or drugs). Fun Fact: Albany is also the New York State capitol!

Anyway,...umm where was I? Ah yes, Hey Stranger! They're a great group of guys and I really enjoyed working with them. Check their stuff out here:

THROWDOWN!!!!!!!!!!

Guess who's seeing the Bosstones tonite? Ahh Boston, how I love you.

Random update: Holy crap! As expected, Throwdown was amazing. Another amazing thing was this: a couple of my friends who work the shows got engaged with the help of none other than Mr. Dicky Barrett. Now, I'm not the type of girl who has had her marriage planned since she was 6 years old, or has names for her children that do not even exist yet, but oh man, this is the greatest possible engagement, probably ever. Congrats Amy and Mike!
